Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How many check books will I need?

A risk assessment will identify the required frequency of inspection if the interval is not specified by relevant legislation. Each check book contains 25 inspections, providing sufficient for one month of daily checks or six months of weekly checks.

Q. Who should do the inspection?

The Good to Go Safety (SEMS) should be completed by someone with sufficient training and knowledge of the equipment to be inspected, and be classified as a 'competent person'.

Q. Why do I need a SEMS if we haven't had an accident?

Good to Go Safety attempts to identify potential faults before they develop into a costly incident. We don't believe in waiting for an accident to occur before taking action, we simply remove potential risks at the source by promoting pre-use checks.

Q. How does the Tamper Evident Seal work?

The arrow head is inserted into the top of the Status Tag and remains in place until it is subsequently opened (at the end of use) this breaks the seal and clearly indicates that a new checklist need to be completed. Having a Tamper Evident Seal deters and identifies unauthorised access ensuring that employees do not use equipment displaying the "Do not Use" status or with a broken seal.

Q. Do i need to use the Tamper Evident Seal?

No, the tamper evident seal is an optional extra and is recommended in areas where inserts are discovered to being removed/altered by unauthorised personnel. By introducing the seal to the system process, it allows employees to question the equipment status if the seal is missing from the tag.

Q. What kind of equipment needs checked?

Good to Go Safety have created various different checklists to choose from. The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998 impose specific legal duties on companies to provide, inspect, maintain and operate safe work equipment. PUWER encompasses a huge raft of equipment types and our check books cover many of the most common types. If you can't find a checklist for your equipment type, why not use our bespoke check book to create your own checklist?

Q. Can I add our logo or change the colour of the tag?

We are able to add your logo and / or change the tag / seal colour for high volume orders. Likewise we can add company details to the check books for volume orders. If you would like to discuss this option please contact us for more information
