The Good to Go Safety Check Book is an innovative tool for workplace equipment. It allows workers to carry out a pre-use inspection and spot potential faults before they develop into a more serious and costly defect. These safety checklists are designed to help improve safety, reduce maintenance costs and ensure compliance with legal responsibilities.

“Agricultural vehicles, are covered by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HSWA) and The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). To comply with legislation, daily checks should be completed to make sure the tractor is safe and working correctly. Keeping a record of when checks have been carried out and what work has been done can help show that a machine is well maintained and regularly checked, particularly useful in the event of an inspection or accident. The checks may also help reduce the risk of an accident occurring in the first place, as possible defects can be identified and repaired immediately. Regular maintenance may also extend the life of the machine and help prevent severe deterioration of parts, which could lead to expensive repair bills.” Ref: NFU (National Farming Union) & BAGMA (British Agricultural & Garden Machinery Association)

Each check book contains 25 individual checklists relating to vehicle components and mechanical checks to be completed before the tractor is used. Duplicate carbon copies of the completed checklists are retained in the book for management records. The book also includes useful guidance notes to remind operatives what to look for during their inspection.
